Saunas with electric heaters simulate the proper traditional Finish sauna method. With rocks heated over the electric heater this method creates a dry type of heat. Add water to those rocks and you get a steamy and humid response both of which promote that relaxation experience.

We caught up with our Safari Tents ambassador and New Zealand Rugby Player Cullen Grace on how he likes his Pure Cube sauna. Cullen said "I've always loved using heat therapy for its recovery and health benefits so having a sauna at home has been amazing. The accessibility of having it at home means I am able to incorporate it into my routine a lot more. Playing a physically demanding sport like rugby for a living takes a toll on the mind and body and ever since using my sauna I feel I have been able to sleep better, recover quicker and approach each training fresh and ready to go. I have truly noticed that my Safari Tents sauna is of a quality unlike anything else."

Cullen has the CU552 sauna model in knotty western red cedar - this is also available in clear cedar.

The Holiday Parks Association annual conference is in Rotorua this year and we have a Comet 20 on display. Designed specifically with the dimensions of European campsite pitches in mind the Comet tent is a compact tent that packs a big punch, providing accommodation for up to five occupants. HPANZ is a member only event however the same tent will be on display at the Tiny House Expo at Auckland Showgrounds from 11th - 13th August so if you want to come and have a look we look forward to seeing you then. We will be closing orders after the Tiny House Expo for summer deliveries.

What does the tent sit on?

Each vertical frame piece sits in a cup that has a spike into the ground. This frame is then attached to a decking/platform. The platform is built like any other deck and needs to have piles into the ground to secure it.

For Fieldays we used the screw in pile system from @stopdiggingnz. They are incredibly easy and quick and are a much less a invasive way to create your foundations.

Paul and his team at @twinsolutions did an outstanding job as they always do at creating the platform and constructing the tent. We used Kwila decking timber for the veranda surface and ply for the flooring inside the tent. Once attached to the deck the frame is then assembled and the roof and canvas attached.

When ordering a tent it does not include the platform. This is something you need to create yourselves or enlist a builder to do for you. The tent will come with the frame, cups, connectors, straps, roof and canvas tent.
